We arrived home on Monday last week to not bad weather for the tuesday, we managed to get all the horses we needed back into work before the rains came in on Wednesday. This time Last year i didnt cope at all with the cold or wet weather, but i have since discovered that rain pants/jacket Dubarrys are essential!!!! The art of layering up in the morning for a Queenslander before stepping out the door is the key for a good honest days work in the rain/cold and mud. Thermal followed by vest then tight jumper then another vest then jacket then the all important rain jacket from Line 7, on the lower half its thermal followed by either breech's or jeans followed by line 7 rain pants....Now this attire is not made to measure for ones body!!!!!(something a queenslander is not familiar with) Ok so the rain pants and jacket you would not find in stores like Jag or Tommy Hillfiger.........so needless to say last year i took the mickey out of Donna, but this year i have joined her!!!!
The high light of our week was on Friday when we went into Cambridge for a few things to find a few police men discussing how one of them came to get bogged on the side of the road.......We pulled up in Daddy's ute to lend a hand.....As we pulled up they looked quite excited, untill they realised we were two girls!!!! Needless to say we got the job done, got invited for donuts back at the station(we didnt go), the boys in blue cancelled the tow truck they had on order and off we drove away feeling pretty proud of ourselves.
