On our way home

2:52pm, Sunday 3rd of July 2011, by Simone Kann

Our last week in the sunshine state.

Its been a busy week, we caught up with the Lee's(Damien, Debra,Rachael and Patrick) in Sydney for a few days. The Lee's have brought a few horses from us and it was great to see their new fantastic facility and all the lovely horses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a super time catching up.

After Sydney it was what Donna and I thought going to be straight to Kooralbyn horse trials for Donna to ride her new favourite pony "Tall Jan" yes she is clearly the favourite child!!!! Jan this Jan that, did you see Jan jump that and how did she look, wasnt she great etc etc, oh by the way her name is actually not Jan Donna, its Brandy and she is a chestnut mare with no table manners at all."TALL JAN IS MALICIOUS" or is it "ALL BRAN IS DELICIOUS"...............Ok we will book into Kooralbyn resort and stay there i said...........Hell no, Kooralbyn resort is No longer up and running!!!!!! Reb tells me the Asylum Seekers are moving in and taking over. So sad, Kooralbyn was such a lovely place to stay for the horse trials for the riders, owners and friends. So we  arrange to take the offending campervan to Kooralbyn(the holes are now fixed) and my mum and dad are keen to go as well. We were all getting quite excited for our little trip to watch the horses and Donna compete, so its off to find the draw.!!!!!

Hmmmm, I cant manage to find it on line so i check the date and yes "WE GOT THE DATE WRONG"  OOOOOPPPPPSSSS. Its actually this weekend. We are all very disapointed. So we seriously look at getting the flights changed last night and do the checking with our fantastic parents(on both sides of the ditch) yes we get the go ahead for one more week. Yeh off to Kooralbyn once again........NOT. Reb rings and says the Hendra virus is causing some concern and the event may be cancelled. So we barter with Reb and decide to.............where still working on it, so watch this space.

Although the weather is not idela at home at the moment, we are really looking forward to bringing our horses back into work and doing a few local winter outings on the new rough and woolys before our season starts in September.
