The New Splash at Waerenga that is nearly finished, this is just one of the many new fences that the hard working crew have built for the horse trials in three weeks.
With Northaland Horse Trials being cancelled this week, for us it was a week to catch up and catch a breath.
Our Horse trials here at Waerenga is taking shape with some really cool new 2* jumps out on the xc, including the new Splash which is the photo attatched(nearly finished). Exciting news is that the Waerenga Horse trials group have also just purchased a new Airator for the xc galloping track, Graham tested it out on Saturday on a section that was a little hard and has certainly made a difference to the condition of the galloping track. The Horse trials group are working really hard with working bees happening every few days....or so it seems. Graham and Diana Smith, John and Vicki Lawson, John and Janet Evans, Neville and Marion Hancock and Theresa Paulsen have been working really hard on the new course for its preperation in November. Remember there is some really good prize money up for grabs in the Intermediate and Novice, should make for a great competition.
Have you ever seen a plane in a skating rink.......Donna, Paddy and I decided to have a day off on Sunday and went to Paunui beach. We pulled up to get a drink at the pub when we arrived......we heard the sounds of the fire departments bell(going for some time) and then men running out of the pub.....So it seemed that a plane ran off the runway just 200 metres from our pub!!!! Aparently the lady driver had troubles taking off so decided alternative methods and nearly ending up in the skating rink.
Next week we have Woodhills CIC horse Trials, i think we have 12 going so its going to be a really busy weekend for our Team.
