Winter is coming to an end....thank god!
July saw us start to bring in our horses for the up coming season. Slowly they have all trickled back into work and the head count is now at 30. On the new staff side of things, Patrick Everingham started in August and is fitting into our programme well. Lauren from Scotland is fitting in fantastic and all the horses are loving their daily groom/TLC her calm approach to life(especially Okey, the favourite child).
This week we created our own personal splash in one of the cow fields...we incorporated two verticals into the water plus a jump in the water which turned out to be very educational for horses of all levels from the breakers to the seasoned eventers. This left Paddy, Donna and i looking like we just rolled around in a pigs den and smelling like it to!!! But with huge smile on our faces as the horses thrived from it. How we came about this idea was from a game of tiggy on horse back with the breakers(although im not sure how good a tiggy player i am, as all i seem to do is laugh the whole time and cant catch anyone!!...oh what will we do next week. Ill tell you, we now have moved the short course xc(3 jumps) to the man from snowy river hills(we think Paddy will learn to wear his breast plate now)
We have also put Balmoral Eventers on facebook, this doesnt replace our websight at all, we will be using it in conjuction with the websight to let you know of any updated sale horses etc.
Our first event is the second weekend of September which is the Taupo training trial, we will have a full truck of ten horses to take down and spend 5 days, Most of them it will be there first outings, so should make for an eventfull time.
We have some exciting new prospects for the season as well as the seasoned horses that are feeling super and ready to run towards the end of September.

Xmas...............................
Donna and I are sponsoring the Intermediate at Waerenga horse trials and its offering a really good prize for the winner, 1k plus a rug!! In Donnas words “come try to win the money back off us”
Our Sponsors “Spurs of Counties” www.topnotcheq.com is sponsoring the actual whole horse trials, a big thank you to their support with this.
It should be a super event, plenty of new jumps being built by poppa Smith and his decipals(the cross country course builder bullies). The new Splash is sure to be a crowd pleaser im sure......but wait what about the new drop to the skinny over the fence line or the double of corners up on the hill!!!!
Well as you can see we have a busy season and plenty of nice horses that we are excited about the season with, thanks to “Spurs of Counties” for the amazing sponsorship of Stubben saddles/bridles Euro Star breechs/clothing Irh Helmets and all our equestrian needs to make our season all the more enjoyable and easy on us.
We choose to ride in the Stubben dressage and Jump saddles, we both choose the
dressage saddles with the biomex seats.
Excalibur mono flap for Donna cross Country.
We both choose the Edelweiss NT Deluxe for the show jumping.
“We love the way our Stubben saddles fit both us and our horses. That makes a big difference, especially when competing. They're stable and comfortable and fit every horse, which really helps out when you spend as much time in the saddle as we do. Stubben saddles allow our horses to perform at their best.
It makes a big difference, thats why we choose Stubben”.
Platinum performance is also in full force at the moment in our feeding programme. Last season our horses really thrived from this product and we truly believe this supplement enhances our horses overall performance as 3 day event athletes in both soundness/well being and overall condition.
